Privacy Notice
This privacy notice applies specifically to Binaural, published by MiCk Software.
Always-on technical and usage telemetry
Binaural always sends non-account-based technical information and app-interaction/usage statistics to MiCk Software servers to monitor and improve the app. This basic telemetry is separate from the optional sharing of session or experiment results described below and cannot be turned off in the app.
On the server, a telemetry record includes the time received, the network address supplied with the request, an app-generated client identifier, the app version, and technical or usage event values sent by the app.
These records may be stored on MiCk Software servers. The implementation reviewed for this notice does not apply a fixed retention or automatic-deletion period to this telemetry store.
MiCk Software does not sell Binaural data or use Binaural data for advertising.
Optional session and experiment results
You can turn off the transmission of session/experiment results in the app. When that option is on, Binaural may send results to MiCk Software servers for statistical or research analysis and to improve presets. Turning it off stops this session/experiment-result transmission; it does not turn off the basic technical and usage telemetry above.
The results include app-generated contributor and upload identifiers; app and consent versions; completion and receipt times; session settings such as mode, condition, frequencies, noise, duration, and fades; time-of-day and audio-output categories; and before/after self-assessment ratings and reported results.
When enabled, these session/experiment results are stored in a MiCk Software server database. The implementation reviewed for this notice does not apply a fixed retention or automatic-deletion period to that database.
Identifiers, deletion, and local data
Binaural does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, precise location, payment information, or user accounts through these server flows. Persistent contributor and upload identifiers, and the client identifier in technical telemetry, can link records bearing the same identifier. They are pseudonymous and are not mapped by MiCk Software to a named individual.
The app-generated client identifier transmitted by Binaural is obfuscated and cannot be used by the receiving MiCk Software service to link a device or user to another service.
For that reason, MiCk Software cannot reliably find records for an individual from a name or email alone. If you can provide a relevant pseudonymous identifier or other record details, it may be possible to locate the associated server-side records for an individual deletion request. Binaural does not provide a self-service server-data deletion feature. For privacy or deletion requests, contact mick.software@gmail.com. You can remove data stored on your device by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
